Cowboys Sign DBs Thomas, Austin Amid Secondary Injuries

The Cowboys are signing cornerback Alex Austin to the practice squad and safety Juanyeh Thomas, though it's unclear whether Thomas will join the active roster or practice squad. Austin, a seventh-round pick of the Bills in 2023, has played 29 games with six starts, recording 31 tackles, eight passes defensed and an interception. syntagm.co.za

Thomas, signed as an undrafted free agent in 2022, has appeared in 36 games with 62 tackles, five passes defensed and a forced fumble. The moves come as safeties Malik Hooker, P.J. Locke and Jalen Thompson, as well as cornerbacks Shavon Revel and Cobie Durant, are all dealing with injuries.
