Chris Godwin admits he didn't initially believe reports of Mike Evans signing with the 49ers, calling him his 'brother' and wishing him well.

Chris Godwin spent nine seasons as Mike Evans' teammate before Evans left Tampa Bay for San Francisco in free agency. 'Honestly, I didn't believe it,' Godwin said of the reports. 'I mean, there's a bunch of stuff on the Internet that you can't really believe, a lot of AI stuff.'

Evans and Godwin are the Buccaneers' top two receivers in franchise history. Despite Evans' departure, Godwin expressed optimism: 'Fortunately we have a room full of guys that are ready to go.'
