Shilo Sanders Bankruptcy Could Have Been Avoided

Free-agent safety Shilo Sanders' $11.89 million bankruptcy case could have been avoided if his father Deion had handled the situation differently, according to his accuser.

John Darjean, who sued Shilo Sanders over a 2015 altercation, revealed he would have settled for much less than the $11.89 million default judgment. 'I would have taken something,' Darjean told USA Today. 'I was thinking Deion was man enough to say, "Hey, here's $200,000. I know my son messed your neck up."'

Instead, Deion called Darjean a 'real life grifter' in a 2016 TMZ interview, leading Darjean to increase his demand to $100 million. Shilo failed to respond to the original lawsuit, resulting in a default judgment of nearly $12 million. His bankruptcy case will discharge the debt unless found to be a 'willful and malicious injury,' with a trial scheduled for August 31. musojam.blog
