Houston Astros owner Jim Crane said Monday the team's playoff berth will be "something to consider" when deciding on the future of manager Joe Espada, whose contract expires after the season.

Crane confirmed there have been no recent discussions about a new deal for Espada, adding that "all positives are positives" regarding the impact of making the playoffs on his future. The Astros parted ways with general manager Dana Brown last month, but Crane said the move didn't impact their performance. musojam.blog

The Astros became the first MLB team to make the postseason with an 81-81 record, and will host the Chicago White Sox in a Wild Card Series beginning Tuesday. This marks their ninth playoff appearance in 10 years.
