Seven-time Grand Slam winner Carlos Alcaraz is one of the biggest sports stars in the world, and during his practice for the Indian Wells ATP 1000 tournament, he brought out a LeBron James jersey.
Alcaraz is only 22 years old, and he has already reached the No. 1 ranking in men’s singles tennis and formed a great rivalry with Jannick Sinner, the Italian who has become a great, consistent machine.
On Monday, in preparation for Indian Wells, Alcaraz hit the court with a James jersey, tipping his cap to a Southern California legend.
Indian Wells is held in the eastern part of Southern California, near the Coachella Valley area. While not quite a stone’s throw from Los Angeles, the tournament does tend to attract a good deal of stars.
This is not the first time Alcaraz has worn James’ jersey, as he did so during the 2026 Australian Open. He did not wear to the game, but it was a practice session as well, which got the attention of the Lakers legend.
“(Salute) to the Young (king),” James said
Alcaraz will face tough competition in his Indian Wells 2026 opening match, either former World No. 3 Grigor Dimitrov or the surging Terence Atmane, allowing him to get sharp early on ahead of the long tournament.
