Scherzer's Daughter's Letter to Blue Jays 'Cutest Thing'

Max Scherzer praised his 8-year-old daughter's handwritten letter asking the Toronto Blue Jays to re-sign him, calling it 'the cutest thing you can possibly imagine'.

After signing a $3 million, one-year contract to return to the Toronto Blue Jays, Scherzer revealed the heartfelt letter his daughter Brooke wrote when she was writing letters to Santa Claus. The 8-year-old included a stamp on a sealed envelope addressed to the team, expressing her desire for her dad to return and her family's love for Toronto.

The three-time Cy Young Award winner said the letter, which wasn't actually sent to the Blue Jays, was a factor in his decision to return. Scherzer noted the team came close to winning the World Series last season and he wants to be part of a team that can win. He also expressed feeling healthy after dealing with a thumb injury for much of last year.
