Bears' Dalman Retires at 27 After 5 NFL Seasons

Bears Pro Bowl center Drew Dalman has announced his retirement from the NFL at just 27 years old, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The 27-year-old offensive lineman's decision comes as a massive surprise considering his age, recent contract and on-field excellence. Dalman signed a three-year, $42 million deal with Chicago last March, a move that helped propel the Bears from worst to first in the NFC North.

He played four seasons with the Atlanta Falcons before joining Chicago for one season, leaving Stanford in 2021 to begin his professional career.
