Pavan Discharged After Elevator Shaft Fall

Golfer Andrea Pavan has been discharged from the hospital one week after falling three stories down an elevator shaft in South Africa, where he was competing in the DP World Tour's Investec South African Open.

The Italian golfer underwent surgeries on his shoulder and back after suffering fractures to several vertebrae in the February 25 accident. Pavan expressed gratitude for the support he received, noting that being able to walk after the incident "truly feels like a miracle."

The 36-year-old will remain in South Africa for approximately five more weeks of rehabilitation before returning to the United States. A GoFundMe set up by a former teammate has raised over $81,000 to support his recovery.
